Welcome to Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya, a co-educational day College, affiliated to the University of Calcutta (date of affiliation: 29.07.1968), was founded in Monirampore, under Barrackpore Sub-division of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, by Late Swami Jyotirmoyananda Giri Maharaj, in the sacred memory of his preceptor Late Swami Mahadevananda Giri Maharaj, on the auspicious day of Janmashtami, and the Independence Day, the 15th of August, 1968. The 15th of August being a holiday, the 16th of August has been officially declared as the Foundation Day of the College.

Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya is situated on the eastern bank of the river Hooghly at Monirampore, Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas, within the KMDA area and is well connected by bus route, river and Railway station (only 2 kms from the campus.)
- The campus includes 2 complexes, the main and RGSN, having 3.086 acres, of land area under possession and built up area of 3,748 sq. mts. The RGSN complex includes one pond, a small ground and a garden 27 varieties of 146 trees and plants which include valuable trees like Mahogany and fruit trees like mango, lichi and coconut etc.
- The RGSN complex has a Memorial Plaque within the campus, at he site of cremation of Rashtraguru Surendranath Banerjee.
- The College, under the supervision of the Deptt. of Botany, has started, has started developing an enclosure for medicinal plants.
- Open air classes are sometimes held in the RGSN complex where there is a provision for it.
