NSS & NCC

The College obtained permission for NSS and enrolment of students is going on. Full-fledged activities of NSS will commence from the next academic session, under the supervision of a designated faculty member.

The necessary permission for opening NCC and due selection of an NCC officer from among the teachers by the appropriate authorities has revived the opportunity of NCC training for the students from the new academic session.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

The College is trying to developed a formal, regular method of encouraging the students for participating in different extension activities, sometimes involving GOs and NGOs like

1) Awareness programme for Pulse Polio Immunization
2) Thalassaemia Carrier Detection Programme for all
3) AIDS Awareness
4) Blood Donation Camp
5) Health and Hygiene awareness
6) Medical Camp
7) Social work etc.
8) Sarva Siksha Abhijan

COMMUNITY ORIENTATION

The College observes Hindi Bhasha Divas and Bengali Bhasha Divas. With great enthusiasm 'Nabin Baran Utsav' (Freshers' Welcome) is celebrated each year in the College to felicitate the new entrants where the Students' Union takes the leading role involving all other constituencies. Such programmes, along with cultural programmes, competitions, sports and games and extension activities, contribute to the great, yet simple process of 'community orientation' of the new entrants including overseas students, who can easily acclimatize and ultimately identify themselves with the ethos of the College.
